Design a Creative Website with CSS3

Getting creative with CSS3

CSS3 is used in organizing the style and layout of Web pages. It is the latest standard in the CSS series. CSS3 offers a wide variety of new trends to make an impact with your web design. With many exciting new functions and features, CSS can be used as a powerful tool in website designing and development. A CSS3 refers to the technical stipulation of a layout. It ensures that a web page will appear precisely the way the website developer has specified.

As a website designer we have to look into the capabilities of CSS3 and need to make the most of it. The basic approach of CSS3 in web designing is to make the web page user friendly by removing loads of complications from it. The changes that CSS3 has brought into the website development market are quite amazing. Using CSS3 can speed up the process of website design and development and also speed up your web site.

Using CSS3 to your Advantage

Keep all the things side apart, here are some advantages of CSS3 for you:

1. Better search engine results:

With CSS3, you can keep your HTML code much cleaner which in turn helps search engine crawler in getting the real content from your site very easily. You can also put any content anywhere in your web page and no longer each individual page have to be simplified to replicate the new style. By using this website design technique you will make much greater consistency throughout the site easily.

2. Lightweight coding:

In the field of website development, no one likes to wait for anything to come. This condition also applies in loading of web pages. When a website page takes a lot of time to load, generally users leave that page. By using CSS3, web pages can be made lighter which will allow the site to load faster. As table layout format is not used in CSS3, the sites acquire less memory and load faster.

3. Accessibility and usability:

In website designing you have to make it understandable that the content of the site must be validated in all formats of the browsers. A web designer has better control over a website by using CSS3. CSS3 allows for more compatible style elements, including font size and line heights through which web pages can be used more easily by people with disabilities. Website developers can craft specific CSS files especially for printing, or mobile devices, as well as the customary computer screen and in doing so making websites fully multimedia applications.

4. Isolation and Differentiation:

With the introduction of the CSS3 format, website designers have a lot to offer in development of a web page. CSS3 allows changes and modifications to be made in individual modules. CSS3 format helps users in separating presentation from structures. In this technique, style sheets defined presentational characteristics whereas the document structures were defined in separate heading. This eases the maintenance of the web page in efficient and comfortable manner.

When you start styling your content with CSS3 modules, you will probably never want to go back to using the old tags for styling.

You must use CSS3 to determine its full potential. Flexibility is the most useful features of using Cascading Style Sheets. One of the important things you require to gaze at before using this technique is what browsers the greater part of your users uses to visit your website. The reason behind this question is that it sometimes may be very difficult to make your CSS sprites friendly with many of the browsers depending on the techniques you use.

The actress is taken to a hospital after an emergency phone call is placed from her home.

Heather Locklear was rushed to a California hospital on Thursday with what law officials are labeling “a medical emergency.”

TMZ reports that the emergency was a dangerous mix of prescription medication and alcohol. She was taken by ambulance from her home after a call was placed to 911.

“Emergency response personnel responded to a medical emergency call at Ms. Locklear’s residence,” Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Aranda told People later Thursday. “Once they arrived, it was determined that Ms. Locklear needed to be transported to the hospital for further medical attention.”

This is the second medical scare for the 50-year-old actress within the past 13 months. In December of 2010, Locklear landed in the hospital for a brief stay for a bacterial infection.

2011 was not without bumps for the actress either after a split with longtime beau Jack Wagner, once her co-star on “Melrose.” The couple had been engaged for only three months.

Locklear had appeared in public as recently as Tuesday night at a Lakers game, reports TMZ.

Locklear had returned to television in 2009 to revive her role as Amanda Woodward on a reboot of “Melrose Place.” Locklear had proved dependable for weekly watercooler discussion during the series’ original run in the mid-’90s.

George Clooney Charms On National Board Of Review Red Carpet

Seth Rogen, Viola Davis, Rooney Mara also celebrate their 2011 films at event.

NEW YORK — Is there anything George Clooney can’t do at this point? A nearly perennial presence on the awards-season circuit and just so freaking dapper in a tuxedo he’s almost a parody of himself, Clooney managed to gently mock a reporter at the glittering National Board of Review red carpet Tuesday night — “I was going to say, where the hell’s the tie?” — and it still came off as charming.

For the record, Mr. Clooney, the reporter in question was going for the casual, unshaven look — though it’s difficult to stand next to the “Descendants” star and come off looking good, especially when the A-lister has girlfriend Stacy Keibler on his arm. Oh well. At NBR’s bash, the focus was on film — ones that we’re going to be talking a lot about as the Golden Globes and Oscar approach. For Clooney, though, the goal in making movies like “Descendants” and “Ides of March” isn’t about getting awards-season love.

For photos from the red carpet, click here.

“You don’t do them for that,” he told us. “You do them because you want to make films that last longer than an opening weekend. Both films were films I was really proud of and felt we could tell interesting stories and hope they find an audience. We were lucky enough that they did.”

He’s not the only one feeling fortunate. Joining Clooney on the carpet were folks like Rooney Mara, Emma Stone, Keira Knightley, Alec Baldwin, Seth Rogen, Naomi Watts, Sir Ben Kingsley, Helen Mirren, Lars Ulrich, Jessica Chastain, Michael Fassbender and Martin Scorsese. For his part, Rogen couldn’t quite believe he and his film “50/50″ were part of all the craziness.

“It slowly keeps happening,” he said of the continuing stream of nominations. “Every time we get one thing, I think that’s going to be the last one for sure — and then we get another one. I remember for the Golden Globes, I didn’t even wake up to see. I honestly did not assume we were going to get nominations for any of this.”

“Hugo” star Asa Butterfield echoed that sentiment when he confessed to MTV News, “I’m surprised. What’s to like about me?”

A lot, kid! But hey, humility was the theme at the NBR, as star after star professed him or herself simply happy to be along for the ride — which is not to say these folks don’t think they’ve delivered something special.

“I knew we had something the moment we arrived in Mississippi July 11,” “The Help” star Viola Davis said. “It’s a special story. It’s a human story. It’s an honest story. No other movie this year looks like this — all these women, all these races, all these ages. I knew we had something.”

‘X Factor’ Michael Jackson Night Has Singers On Edge

Meanwhile, Paula Abdul has been absent from the set since her final group was eliminated last week.

<P><i>MTV News' own Jim Cantiello is exclusively covering "The X Factor" rehearsals. Read on for his fly-on-the-wall backstage report!</i>

<b>LOS ANGELES</b> &#8212; "The X Factor" top seven are back on the lot after their first (and only) mini-vacation of the season. And as the Thanksgiving tryptophan wears off, the anxiety of another double elimination is setting in.

</p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:714741" width="240" height="211"></div><p>

Adding to the stress? "The X Factor" is tackling the songs of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson</a> on Wednesday night (November 30), on the 29th anniversary of <i>Thriller</i>'s release, no less.

One of the contestants is so stressed over the theme he's emerged as a total perfectionist. During Monday's rehearsals, he had already nixed multiple arrangements the show had provided him. "This is the most unprepared I've felt on a Monday," he said to his mentor as they rushed out of Stage 36. There was a camera crew chasing them to capture the drama &#8212; as well as the ensuing late-night emergency meeting with the vocal coaches &#8212; so don't be surprised if some of this intense footage ends up in your living room. (This afternoon's dress rehearsal went swimmingly, for the record.)

Meanwhile, one contestant had a full-on battle with his/her mentor over a chair. The mentor said, "Sit and sing." The contestant said, "Again?! How about I do something on my feet for Michael Jackson week?" Another mentor came to the defense of the contestant. In the end, the contestant is sitting after all. Don't worry, contestant. The eerie arrangement of an MJ classic is what folks are going to be buzzing about. No one will care if you sit or stand. In the control room, I spied one of the bigwigs utter the word "brilliant!" after the contestant's dress rehearsal.

Another hot topic: wardrobe! When paying homage to one of the biggest music icons ever, it's tempting for the stylists to include clothing nods to Michael's various looks. But several singers are worried they'll look too much like Jackson impersonators, which has caused many a headache in the wardrobe trailer. But stylist June Ambrose is still able to keep things light in the midst of the drama. While waiting around for a contestant's last-minute fitting, she started an impromptu MJ dance party on the lot. Crotch grabs and "woo" included!

Lastly, Paula Abdul's sunny energy has been noticeably absent on the CBS lot now that all her groups have been eliminated. She went from being the most hands-on mentor to an on-set ghost. "The X Factor" family can't wait to welcome her back for her first live show as strictly a judge. What do you think she's been doing with her newfound free time?

<b>You can catch Jim on the "X Factor Pepsi Pre-Show," streaming at 7 p.m. ET tonight on <a href="http://www.thexfactorusa.com/" target="_blank">TheXFactorUSA.com</a>!</b></p>

Britney Spears Is Engaged

Sources tell UsMagazine.com that the singer’s beau proposed on his 40th birthday.

<P>Could it be that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> is ready to walk down the aisle again?

</p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:720382" width="240" height="211"></div><p>

After a report surfaced on <a
href="http://www.tmz.com/2011/12/16/britney-spears-engaged/"
target="_blank">TMZ</a> that the singer's longtime beau and <a href="/news/articles/1672795/britney-spears-criminal-video-director.jhtml">"Criminal" co-star</a> Jason Trawick planned to pop the question Friday night (December 16) in Las Vegas, the singer took to Twitter early Friday and had this mysterious message for her fans.

"OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for," she <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/britneyspears"
target="_blank">wrote</a>. "Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo"

A rep for the singer hadn't responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time, but sources confirmed the news to <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20550229,00.html" target="_blank"><i>People</i></a> magazine. TMZ further reports that Jason asked Britney's dad, Jamie, for his daughter's hand before he popped the question. According to reports, Britney already knew about the engagement and the couple will sign a prenuptial agreement.

As for her conservatorship, her conservators have signed off on the couple's plans to marry; a judge will most likely give them the go-ahead to tie the knot.

A source tells <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/britney-spears-engaged-to-jason-trawick-20111612#ixzz1giRxDKhY" target="_blank">Usmagazine.com</a> that Trawick asked his lady love to marry him on Thursday night while the two were at a romantic dinner celebrating his 40th birthday. The couple will celebrate the engagement at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Friday. "This is something they've both wanted for a long time," the source told the site. "It's a way to cement their family. They're both extremely happy and can't wait to become man and wife."

The Neil Lane ring is a four-carat, round-cut diamond with micro pave diamonds around the band, according to <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/get_details_on_britney_spears/281287" target="_blank">E!</a> News. "It's classic, simple and beautiful," a rep for the jewelry company told the site. The rep added that Trawick worked with the designer to design a "dream ring" for his future wife.

While there's no confirmation from Spears' camp just yet about the engagement, Spears did reveal something on Twitter: what she bought Jason for his birthday.

"Hbday Jason! He looked so cool in the video, that I had to get him a new motorcycle," she wrote. "Check out this new Confederate Bike I got him!"

Taylor Schilling Talks Working With Zac Efron, Ben Affleck

Star-making turns in ‘The Lucky One’ and ‘Argo’ make actress One to Watch in 2012.
By Amy Wilkinson

Ryan Gosling. Rachel McAdams. Liam Hemsworth. To think, you may have never known their names if it weren’t for one of the weepy romances by Nicholas Sparks, the writer behind “The Notebook,” “The Last Song,” “Dear John” and more. And as we ring in a new year of cinema, we find yet another actress toying with the lever on Sparks’ star-making machine: Massachusetts native Taylor Schilling. Fans of NBC’s short-lived medical drama “Mercy” may recognize the 27-year-old as nurse Veronica Flanagan Callahan, though she’s since hung up her scrubs, making the transition from TV to film in earnest this year with roles in the Sparks adaptation “The Lucky One” and Ben Affleck’s “Argo.” We chatted with the actress about her breakout 2012 and whether making out underwater is as hard as it looks.

MTV News: Does this year feel like a particularly big one for you?

Taylor Schilling: Last year felt like a big year. This year feels just kind of like riding the wave. I did some fun work last year, so I’m excited to see how it shakes down.

MTV: Has transitioning from TV to film been an intentional career move for you, or were those simply the roles that were coming your way?

Schilling: When I audition, I take the parts that I get that I like. I feel so grateful that those have been these kind of amazing film roles. And I have to say that there is a big difference [between TV and film]. On a film set, for me, there’s so much more time to process what’s going on than there is on a television set. There’s more wiggle room to try things and fail and try again and get to the heart of what’s going on in the scene, which is really fun for me. It’s what I like to do.

MTV: First up for you this year is “The Lucky One,” co-starring Zac Efron. Let’s cut to the obvious question: Is kissing Zac as amazing as one might imagine?

Schilling: Oh my gosh. I’m not going to let you down. It’s not a bad way to make a paycheck.

MTV: My favorite Nicholas Sparks movie motif is the rain-drenched makeout scene. From the trailer, it appears you and Zac share a steamy smooch under a showerhead, which is a bit of a twist. What I’m wondering, technically speaking, is if there’s any special choreography to ensure you don’t drown with all that water falling on you?

Schilling: [Laughs] No, there didn’t seem to be a problem.

MTV: Well, you’re clearly a talented, well-trained actress. Do you have a favorite Nicholas Sparks movie?

Schilling: I love “The Notebook.” I think that’s my favorite one. It really is a classic now. I don’t know if I could say. I haven’t seen all of them yet, to be honest. I think I need to do some research before I can honestly answer that question. They’re just such nice stories. They’re so romantic. You get lost in them. It’s such a beautiful fantasy. It’s not real life. It’s this precious world where things kind of fall into place.

MTV: You also have “Argo” coming out this year. What is Ben Affleck like as a director?

Schilling: It was one of the easiest experiences I’ve ever had on a set, and it was one of the happiest sets I’ve ever been on. He’s incredibly smart, and he kind of made me as an actor — I never felt left behind. It’s like he knows what it’s like and he’s there with you every step of the way. It’s pretty incredible, that whole experience.

MTV: I have to imagine some of that comes from his background as an actor.

Schilling: Absolutely. Absolutely. He just really knew how to articulate what he wanted, and then I felt really safe and free because I think that when a director has been an actor, he really understands the vulnerability of sort of being in front of the camera and has the ability to make the set very safe. He completely understands what that process is like. So that’s rare.

MTV: What challenges does your character Christine face in “Argo”?

Schilling: Christine is holding down the fort while her husband [played by Affleck] is off kind of doing some big adventurous things. She’s doing the best she can to maintain her home and her relationship, to do right by her child. She’s trying to negotiate what the best plan of action is for her as a woman and to take care of her son and where her relationship fits into that.

MTV: So you’ve got both Ben Affleck and Zac Efron as leading men this year. How are you going to top that? Is Brad Pitt next?

Schilling: I don’t know. I don’t know where it goes from here. Brad Pitt, bring it.

Check out everything we’ve got on “The Lucky One” and “Argo.”
